1.
Prometheans 03:51
What is torment to us Who have stolen such insight What is the passing of days To us who can hear The grinding of immortal teeth Eagle shadows grace us In blasphemous communion With ripping talons and crooked beaks Complicit in our proud rebellion And while we may heal And our spirits flourish and be fortified Our blood seeps ever deeper Into the blind places of the world 'till A knowing in our smiles And a gleam in our augurous eyes Draws down the gods themselves In an impulse of paranoid jealousy Unbind us
2.
The movements of the world Rise and tower over me Lovecraftian gods Inspiring vertigo Mindless demons flourish In spaces beyond reason From whence no thought Can return unharmed And cut off at night From gravity and the stars I shrink into meditation Before the grinning white face Of this endless inhumanity And cut off the night From gravity and the stars I retrun to this cathartic terror This seasonless equinox This dread incarnation Of universal suicide Conspiring with dreams For the reins of my mind A coming of age A crossing of worlds I will make this devourer My vernal sacrifice Come, be revealed Face me Where the howling avatars Of my most desperate passions Hold court in the bowels of my spirit And I wade in the blood Of the conqueror leech And like Mithras bring forth Another unsteady awakening
3.
Cry out for the king To bring salvation from the plague Cry out for the king To bring the cleansing flame And build the new Jerusalem The king is the cause of the plague We capsize, overwhelmed By cascading oedipal revelations Jocasta's feet have finally left the ground Fissures running all the way down Our sacred visions of Apocalypse Epic comic-book escape fantasies We are conveniently unworthy Lull our budding concerns to sleep And every doomsday tragedy Ends with a place in eternity The Delphic oracle grows fat On self-fulfilling prophecies And the Ark of the Covenant Holds a pair of golden brooches
4.
The function of men is to live, not to exist I shall not waste my days prolonging them I shall use my time All of our lives that have gone before All to come after it-- so we ignore So we make perfect the present, condense Thoughts and feeling, soul and sense A rage of rapture against the dying of light Let our whirring dances keep the dark at bay A merging moment, this final absolution A heretic's antinomy to the ending of days The moment eternal, just that and no more When ecstasy's utmost we clutch at the core Our shadows cast will bring the tiding This is our ending, this is where it starts Our coven's summer solstice A welcoming omen of beating hearts

about

Recorded at Independent Recordings.

Many authors, philosophers and poets are mentioned as sources of inspiration in
the booklet.

There are, in a way, 5 tracks on the album. There's a short, instrumental banjo
track (accompanied by the poem "Bedrock This" in the booklet) on track 3 and 4,
which functions as a bridge between those songs.

about

Terzij de Horde Utrecht, Netherlands

Terzij de Horde combine an amalgam of progressive black and doom metal with a rawness reminiscent of extreme hardcore or chaotic screamo.

Terzij de Horde is Dutch for “athwart the horde”. It is a line from the poem “Einde” (ending) by legendary Dutch poet Hendrik Marsman. Marsman is an inspiration to the band, as are many other authors and philosophers in the same dark vitalistic vein.
